Congregatio Pro Clerics
Your Excellency,
In today’s world a great many things are necessary for the good of the Clergy and the fruitfulness of pastoral ministry. With a firm determination to face such challenges without disregarding their difficulties and struggles, and with an awareness that action follows being and that the soul of every apostolate is Divine intimacy, it is our intention that the departure point be a spiritual endeavor. In order to continually maintain a greater awareness of the ontological link between the Eucharist and the Priesthood, and in order to recognize the special maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary for each Priest, it is our intention to bring about a connection between perpetual Eucharistic adoration for the reparation of faults and sanctification of priests and the initiation of a commitment on the part of consecrated feminine souls- following the typology of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Eternal High Priest, and Helper in his work of Redemption – who might wish to spiritually adopt priests in order to help them with their self-offering, prayer, and penance.

Queenship of Mary
— Blessed Dina Belanger
Servants of the Cross
We are a community of women tireless in our call as evangelizers and fearless in our openness to the power of the Holy Spirit. Our quality of life together as Sisters is foundational and through thick and thin we always have in mind Fr. Bob Bedard’s words: before we will be able to do anything worthwhile for the Lord together, we will have to be something good together.
(Fr. Bob Bedard, 1994)
We are a Roman Catholic community of women, committed to living and ministering together as sisters in the Lord. We are to embrace our feminine giftedness and strive to be the helpers and servants that our Lord intends us to be (Genesis 2:18).
With this in mind we remain faithful and steadfast in fulfilling our mission as we gather around the vision of the Companions of the Cross. We are called to labour boldly for the renewal of the Church through a dynamic evangelization centred upon Christ crucified, who is God’s power and wisdom. Prompted by the love of God, we desire all people to come into the fullness of life through a personal ongoing encounter with Jesus Christ.

Vatican - The Holy See
Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops
Purpose
In keeping with the tradition spanning two millennia of synods and councils of the Church in which Bishops have shared their pastoral responsibility for Christ’s faithful (cf. Christus Dominus, n. 36), a Conference of Bishops, or Episcopal Conference as it is also called, is a permanent assembly of the Bishops of the particular Churches or dioceses in a given territory, usually a nation (though sometimes the territory is of greater or lesser scope). Each conference has it own statutes, which the Holy See must approve, and functions as a juridical personality through the same lawfully established statutes. The central purpose of an Episcopal Conference is to facilitate joint pastoral action on the part of the Bishops across the same territory, including some of the following, by way of example:
- the regulation of certain pastoral matters;
- the transmission of the Church’s teachings adapted to the situation of the Catholics living in the territory in which the Conference is located;
- the coordination of apostolic and charitable initiatives across many dioceses.
(See: The Directory for the Pastoral Ministry of Bishops, Apostolorum Successores, n. 28.)
Except in those matters prescribed by canon law or by special mandate of the Holy See, decisions of the Conference of Bishops must ordinarily be adopted by each Bishop and, if so warranted, can be given legal force by him as diocesan legislation, “in deference to the unity with and charity towards his brothers in the episcopate, unless there are grave reasons that prevent their application in the diocese.” (Code of Canon Law, [Montreal: Wilson & Lafleur Ltée, 1993], commentary on p. 344).
The Apostolic Nunciature in Canada
Apostolic Nunciature in Canada
An Apostolic Nuncio is the personal representative of the Pope in a particular part of the Church and a particular country. Thus the Nuncio has two main functions: one relating within the Church, the other relating with States.
The ecclesial role of an Apostolic Nuncio is to make firm and effective the bonds of unity which exist between the Pope and the Church throughout the world
- To inform the Apostolic See about the conditions in which the particular Churches find themselves, and matters which affect the life of the Church and the good of souls.
- To assist the Bishops by action and advice, leaving intact the exercise of their lawful power.
- To foster close relations with the Bishops’ Conference, offering it every assistance.
- In connection with the appointment of Bishops, to send or propose names of candidates to the Apostolic See, as well as to prepare the informative process about those who may be promoted, in accordance with the norms issued by the Apostolic See.
- To promote whatever may contribute to peace, progress, and the united efforts of peoples.
- To work with the Bishops to foster appropriate exchanges between the Catholic Church and other Churches or ecclesial communities, and indeed with non-Christian religions.
- To work with the Bishops to safeguard, so far as the rules of the state are concerned, those things which relate to the mission of the Church and of the Apostolic See.
The diplomatic role of an Apostolic Nuncio is to establish and maintain a relationship of mutual understanding between Church and State, for the peace and progress of each nation, and peace between different peoples.
- To promote and foster relationships between the Apostolic See and State authorities.
- To address questions concerning relations between Church and State, drawing up concordats and other similar agreements, and giving effect to them.
(cf. Canons 361-365 of the Code of Canon Law)
Dicastero Per Il Clero
The Dicastery for the Clergy deals with everything that relates to the presbyters and deacons of the diocesan clergy concerning their persons, their pastoral ministry and what is necessary for its fruitful exercise. In such matters it offers the bishops appropriate help.
The Dicastery manifests and implements the solicitude of the Apostolic See with regard to the formation of candidates for Holy Orders.
Foundation for Priests
Marians of the Immaculate Conception
The Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary is a fraternal community of consecrated life in the Roman Catholic Church. In America, the members of the Congregation are perhaps best known for their work promoting the message of Divine Mercy from Stockbridge, Massachusetts. They are also known for their devotion to Mary Immaculate, dedication to praying for the poor souls in Purgatory, and active service to the Church.
Founded in Poland in 1670 by St. Stanislaus Papczynski (right), today the Marian Congregation has well over 500 priests and brothers who labor in 19 countries, including: the United States, Argentina, Belarus, Brazil, Cameroon, Czech Republic, Germany, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
The Marian Congregation is unique in that it has not only a founder, St. Stanislaus, but also what the Marians call a “Renovator”: Lithuanian-born Blessed George Matulaitis.
Blessed George is credited with saving the Marian Congregation from annihilation when he renovated it in 1910. Prior to the Renovation, the Marian Congregation had been reduced to just one member due to relentless persecution by Russian authorities. With the support of the Pope and bishops, Blessed George rewrote the Marians’ Constitutions, gathered new members, and unleashed the renovated Marian Congregation as a zealous army for Christ and the Church in the modern world.
